Johor Bahru City Square is a shopping centre and office building located in the
Central Business district of Johor Bahru.City Square,
along with Komtar, are located along the
bustling main road of Jalan Wong Ah Fook.Due
in part to its proximity to the Johor-Singapore Causeway, City
Square attracts many shoppers from Singapore.
The building interior
consists of a seven storey mall with five levels of retail outlet space,
including a thirty-six storey office block, which is divided into the lower,
middle and upper zones. City Square has three floors of basement carpark. The
Singapore Visitor Centre, located at level 2, was launched in 2005. In 2000,
the Mega Pavilion Cinema has been upgraded to Cathay Cineplex with new
theatres at both level 5 and level 7. The pedestrian bridge which connects the City Square to JB Sentral was opened in December 2008.
Several banks including Maybank, Affin Bank and RHB Bankhave opened their branches in City Square. Fast-food
outlets such as McDonald's, KFC and
many other retail outlets have also done so. The mall is also a good
hangout place if you are looking for a mall with all entertainment, fashion and
F&B outlets all under one roof. Thus, if you are looking for an affordable
yet budget shopping spree, this is the mall you should stop by when you are in
Johor.
